Privacy Policy

A. Start the Conversation

Start the Conversation is the low-friction first-contact form. It may collect ordinary contact and inquiry information such as name, email, optional phone, preferred contact method, general goal, service interest, availability, optional message, page URL, and UTM attribution where applicable. It does not request detailed medical or readiness information.

Inquiry details are used to respond, evaluate coaching fit, schedule next steps, and operate the website.

B. Athlete Compass

Athlete Compass is a free, self-reported training-orientation tool. It is not a medical assessment, medical clearance, diagnosis, treatment, physical therapy, or a substitute for Dakota’s Discovery & Assessment.

Depending on the questions answered, Compass may process self-reported information such as goals, training experience, Strength / Engine / Movement / Athleticism inputs, activity preferences, equipment access, schedule, movement confidence or limitations, and limited scope/readiness answers.

Current implementation: Compass scoring and routing run in the browser from Hraustr’s published rules. Answers are kept in temporary browser session storage on your device so you can move backward/forward during one visit. They are not uploaded to Hraustr’s servers by the Compass itself in this beta. Refreshing or closing the tab may clear progress. No account is required.

If server-side storage of Compass answers is enabled later, this policy will be updated before that storage is turned on.

C. Athlete Compass feedback

The result page may ask whether the recommendation sounds like you (Yes / Partly / Not really), with optional free-text feedback. In the current beta, that feedback is kept only in temporary browser session memory for that visit. It is not emailed, not tied to your name/email by the Compass UI, and not sent to advertising platforms. If feedback collection becomes stored or transmitted later, this policy will be updated first.

D. Program waitlists / launch notifications

If a recommended program is not live yet, you may be invited to Start the Conversation or request launch notification. Taking Athlete Compass alone is not consent to marketing email. Email is collected only if you intentionally submit a contact form or waitlist request. You can ask to unsubscribe from launch notifications by emailing hi@dakota.fitness.

E. Coaching Readiness Intake

People entering coaching or Discovery & Assessment may complete a separate readiness intake. That process is separate from Start the Conversation and Athlete Compass. It is used for coaching/readiness review and is not a medical diagnosis. Sensitive readiness information is not intended for advertising platforms, ordinary analytics payloads, or URL query strings.

This website does not claim HIPAA compliance.

F. AI processing

Athlete Compass currently uses deterministic on-site scoring and routing. Compass answers are not currently sent to an AI service for interpretation.

G. Playbook

Recommended self-directed programs may be delivered or purchased through Playbook, an external program-delivery platform. Dakota.Fitness controls the Compass recommendation experience. When you follow a Playbook link, that platform’s own privacy policy and terms apply to the purchase/account experience there.

H. Signed documents / e-sign

Where coaching begins, signed agreements govern the professional relationship. Electronic documents or signatures may be used when that workflow is active. Website terms are not a substitute for signed agreements.

I. Ordinary marketing / analytics systems

Website analytics events may record high-level interactions such as a CTA click, form start, or successful inquiry submission. They must not include Compass answer payloads, readiness/health contents, or other sensitive form fields. Advertising/remarketing systems must not receive readiness/health information.

J. Storage, operators, and sharing

Ordinary inquiry information from Start the Conversation is delivered by email to Dakota and to 828 Pros, the company that hosts, operates, and monitors this website and related intake infrastructure. A restricted server-side recovery record may be retained for operational continuity. Historical records created under a previous Google Docs intake workflow may still exist and are not used for new first-contact leads.

Information is not sold, rented, or shared for third-party marketing. Access by hosting/ops providers is limited to operating the site and submission systems.

K. External links

This site may link to external resources, including program-delivery platforms. Dakota is not responsible for external privacy practices.
